The
link and constant in my paintings come from the process
in which I paint. Texture, color, balance, and a sense
of craft are my main concern. The paintings are as much
about the paint as the subject matter. The layering and
different forms of mark-making techniques along with paint
qualities and surfaces keep me exploring different ways
of developing my working process.
My finished paintings must function on several levels
and engage the viewer at different distances. Through
the layering, color, and texture the paintings contain
a certain complexity and focus on the fluid qualities
of the paint itself. -
